Description

The Contactless replay project is a European collaborative research project co-funded by the EUREKA partner states in the framework of the European Horizon 2020 calls for projects.

The project partners are Keolabs (project leader) ST Microelectronics and Yncréa Méditerranée. The duration of the project for Yncréa is from 2019 to 2022.

Objectifs

The objective of the contactless replay project is to design an infrastructure allowing the acquisition, analysis and reproduction of signals coming from readers or maps in the field. The interest is to be able to reproduce these signals and thus emulate the behavior of the acquired devices to study the robustness of systems (reader and map) under development.

More details

The architecture of the solution is shown in the figure below.

It consists of acquisition tools, emulation tools and a database to manage the entire library of acquired signals.

Within the framework of this project, Yncréa has mainly focused on the development of card analysis and replay (PICC). Yncréa has developed in collaboration with the partners an acquisition probe allowing to acquire signals on a large spectrum while minimizing the invasiveness on the performances of the device under test.

The developed probe has also the interest to be able to adapt on different card support.

The second part of the work developed by Yncréa Méditerranée in collaboration with the partners was the analysis and emulation platform of PICC. This platform centered around a National Instrument bench integrates analysis tools compatible with the recommendations of the ISO 10373-6 standard and can also emulate a PICC communication from an analog and digital point of view.
