Toulon engineering school

ISEN Méditerranée is an engineering school that trains over 850 IT students every year, three-quarters of whom are based at the Toulon site.

ISEN offers 5-year engineering courses, bachelor's degrees and specialized master's degrees. Post-baccalaureate students enter ISEN's courses, which are adapted to different profiles of candidates with an appetite for scientific and technological subjects.

The courses on offer don't stop at technical subjects. Students also learn how to communicate, manage and gain perspective on their activities.

ISEN is a member of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE ) and is committed to supporting its students, from baccalaureate to master's level, throughout their studies and providing them with quality training. The school encourages the creation and running of student associations, contributing to a rich and dynamic campus life.

ISEN is certified by the Cti (Commission des titres d'ingénieurs). The Cti is responsible for the independent assessment of all French engineering schools. This makes ISEN one of the 204 best engineering schools authorized to award an engineering degree. What's more, ISEN's titles are certified by the RNCP (Répertoire national des certifications professionnelles), enabling holders to prove the skills and knowledge required to exercise a profession.

ISEN is also qualified as an EESPIG (Etablissement d'Enseignement Supérieur Privé reconnu d'Intérêt Général - private higher education establishment recognized as being in the public interest), like the other major engineering schools under contract with the French state.

The opinion of a business leader

"It is a tool that is far too simplistic and does not reflect the complexity and diversity of our activities. But the general public, I understand, wants synthetic, easy-to-use indicators. Rankings are a necessary evil. But their reliability is very... average. What bothers me a lot is that rankings tend to erase differences. They push schools to copy each other. They also maintain a form of self-reproduction.

What are the admission requirements for ISEN Méditerranée?

Admission requirements for ISEN Méditerranée vary depending on the entry level and the program of study:

  • Admission after high school: Applications are submitted through Parcoursup and the Puissance Alpha entrance exam. Selection is based on an evaluation of the applicant’s academic record and, depending on the applicant’s profile, on written exams.
  • Admission to the engineering program: Students who have completed a preparatory class (CPGE) are admitted to the school through a competitive entrance exam. Applicants holding a BUT, a bachelor’s degree, a BTS, or another two- or three-year post-secondary degree are selected based on their application materials and may then be invited to take written tests and an interview.
  • Special admission and program changes: Specific procedures are in place for students changing their major or those holding specific degrees. Admission is granted based on a review of the application and, depending on the case, following a motivational interview.
