Core business

Currently, Belmar is part of the R&D team at ISEN Méditerranée, and one of his main missions is to integrate FPGA embedded systems into current and future projects where this is deemed relevant. On the other hand, his role as a teacher, more than a job or a simple mission, he considers it as a personal satisfaction to be able to help students facilitate the learning of knowledge and, consequently, the satisfaction of knowing that they will be better prepared for the future.

Prospective

With increasingly intelligent software and hardware with ever-greater processing capacity, these two technological elements are strongly linked. Knowing the common ground where the two interact gives us a broader view of the modern world we live in.

360°

The three main axes of my professional life:

  • Scientific research to create innovative knowledge.
  • Technological development to make our innovative ideas a reality in the service of society.
  • Continuous improvement of teaching quality.

About me

I feel lucky because I've had the opportunity to study and work in my native Mexico, as well as in France. I have an engineering background and a master's degree in communications and electronics, during which I acquired knowledge in embedded systems. Later, I decided to do a PhD in image processing applied to video surveillance, as part of a collaborative project between the University of La Rochelle and my Mexican university. All this enabled me not only to acquire technical skills, but also to develop cultural and social openness in different languages, as well as simplicity and humility with the people around me.

Areas of expertise

  • FPGA embedded systems: Programming of statistical and intelligence algorithms on FPGA embedded devices in VHDL language.
  • Microcontrollers: Programming microcontrollers in C and Assembly language.
  • Digital image processing: Artificial Intelligence and DeepLearning algorithms applied to Computer Vision in MATLAB and Python.
