I really encourage students to try new technologies and not just Google what they find.

Core business

Amaury Auguste teaches algorithmic applied to several languages. Algorithms are the study and production of rules and techniques that are involved in the definition and design of algorithms. Amaury is preparing a thesis on behavioral analysis through video streams to detect risky or dangerous situations and to assist in rapid intervention by law enforcement. The acquisition of data, such as speed or trajectory, is a prerequisite for obtaining useful parameters for an initial identification of the person and the assessment of his or her attitude. The objective is to deduce possible scenarios, to compare them to those already known and to evaluate the level of risk they presuppose.

Prospective

Artificial intelligence brings real added value to vision and parameter acquisition, by crossing data to extract relevant information that would have escaped human intelligence at first glance and by making correlations between known scenarios. The aim is to develop the best possible decision support tool for use by operators in front of their surveillance cameras. The ideal would be to be able to say where any person is at any time, but this would imply the implementation of too intrusive means that would lead to ethical pitfalls. Research, still very theoretical for the moment, is also directed towards devices capable of analyzing behavior without resorting to the video stream. This could involve the use of specific sensors to detect variations in human body temperature or heart rate.

360°

To carry out his research, Amaury works in collaboration with the "Vision" laboratory at ISEN Yncréa Ouest, which provides him with its expertise, particularly in terms of the state of the art. He also particularly enjoys the Fablab activities in which he regularly participates. He never hesitates to try out new things. The aim is to experiment and give free rein to his imagination.

About me

I graduated from ISEN Yncréa Méditerranée in 2016. I started to teach mainly in algorithmic applied to C language and in WEB development. I was also able to taste the world of research, which allowed me to start a thesis on behavioral analysis in urban environment. This thesis, still in progress, aims at detecting, with the help of video (or directly from a camera), crowd movements or abnormal attitudes in order, for example, to improve security in urban environments.

Areas of expertise

The numerous projects we carry out at ISEN and the work done during the courses and student projects have allowed me to develop skills in many computer science domains. However, I remain more attached to algorithmic in Python and C and to WEB languages. This diversity in my background and my passion for these domains also allows me to work on a wide variety of languages and media such as mobile applications or Raspberry / Arduino systems.

Research and development activities

The diversity of the projects accomplished at ISEN allows me to adapt to many programming languages and computer technologies. We can thus carry out our R&D on multitudes of technologies whether it is innovative or a little older.

Teaching activities

Algorithms applied to C, Python and Java

WEB Frontend with HTML, CSS and JavaScript and Backend with PHP or NodeJS.
