RESCHIP4EU program: obtain a Master's degree in Embedded Systems

Intelligent embedded systems are shaping our daily lives, in every sector from cell phones to household appliances, from automated production lines to autonomous vehicles, be they cars, airplanes, satellites or medical devices.

The growing complexity of embedded systems demands ever more powerful computing units. As artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IOT) advance at lightning speed, this transformation paves the way for companies seeking engineers to shape the embedded systems of tomorrow.

With the Master in Embedded Systems Design, you'll develop the expertise and confidence to excel in this fast-growing field.

This European program enables you to study at recognized schools in Italy, Finland, Estonia and Hungary.

For ISEN Méditerranée students, this means spending their 4th or 5th year of engineering studies abroad.

Program benefits

This Master's program has been designed to give you an in-depth understanding of embedded systems and their design, while developing the practical skills you need to turn innovative ideas into concrete solutions. This two-year program trains future engineers for positions such as :

  • Embedded systems architect
  • Software engineer for robotic systems
  • Developer for embedded operating systems
  • Wireless embedded software architect
  • Integrated circuit design engineer
  • Autonomous vehicle engineer
  • Solutions architect for the Internet of Things
  • Embedded systems researchers
  • Space systems engineer

Open up new professional horizons!

The field of embedded systems is booming. By enrolling in this 2-year program, you'll develop the knowledge and skills you need to explore a wide range of careers.

Students in the program embark on a rich career with leading technology companies in a variety of sectors, including manufacturing, transportation, telecommunications, construction, agriculture, energy, healthcare, space and education.

Joining the Embedded Systems Design Master's program means taking an active part in the digital revolution.

Master's program

All EIT Digital Master School courses are built around the same model:

Students spend one year at an "entry" university and one year at an "exit" university.

The first year is similar for all entry levels, with specialization in core courses that prepare students for their chosen technical program. Students are introduced to the world of business and management during this first year. In the second semester, a design project is combined with business development exercises to illustrate how technology can metamorphose into a thriving business, thanks to optional courses. Students acquire the skills needed to develop and present a compelling business plan.

Between the first and second year, students engage in the 2-week EIT digital summer school program, exploring business opportunities around a theme of social importance.

The second year offers a specialization and a final year project. This project includes an internship in a company or research institute, and culminates in a Master's thesis focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship.

At the end of these two years, students obtain a double degree and a certificate issued by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

Is this program right for me?

The Master's degree in Embedded Systems Design is open to candidates with a scientific baccalaureate (bac+3) or in their final year of studies in the following fields:

  • Technology and software evolution
  • Computer systems engineering
  • Information and communication technologies
  • Electrical and electronic systems engineering
  • Communication skills
  • Mechatronics
  • Mathematics

To apply, profiles must have obtained a minimum of 40 ECTS in ICT courses (Information and Communication Technologies) and at least 20 ECTS in mathematics (calculus, algebra, statistics).

ISEN Méditerranée students are eligible for this program once they have completed their first year of engineering studies (ISEN 3).

Financing your training

To make this master's degree accessible, you can benefit from three types of scholarship, thanks to the RESCHIP4EU program:

  • Excellence Scholarships: full tuition waiver + monthly allowance (based on average cost of living in country of study)
  • Full exemption from tuition fees
  • 50% tuition waiver

Scholarships are available exclusively to citizens of European Union member states, including overseas countries and territories (OCTs), as well as nationals of the European Economic Area countries mentioned and nations associated with the Digital Europe program.
Applications for funding are made during the Master's application process on a dedicated portal.

In addition to the scholarships offered by EIT Digital, our students can also take advantage of other scholarships, grants or financial aid offered by our partner universities.

The funding program is also presented on the EU funding and tendering portal.
