Prepare students for the solid state physics course.

Course content

This course provides an introduction to quantum mechanics, starting with the :
1. A brief history
2. Schrödinger's description
3. Dirac's formalism
4. Interpretation of quantum mechanics - Uncertainty Principle
5. Orbital angular momentum
6. Spin
A laboratory enables students to apply quantum mechanics to the concrete case of quantum cryptography.

Assessment method

Proctored homework.
