Core business

Willy Magloire Nkounga is a teacher-researcher in Smart Energy. After obtaining a Master's degree in Physics in Cameroon, he went on to complete a Master's degree in Renewable Energy and Electrical Systems in Senegal, followed by a Doctorate in Engineering Sciences in France (under joint supervision with Cheikh Anta Diop University in Senegal). His research and development activities focus on the Smart Grid, Smart Cities and the intelligent management of multi-source systems based on renewable energies (solar/wind). It uses digital tools such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and sensor-based instrumentation to enhance the value of its research results (test beds, demonstrators, publications).

Prospective

Today, the energy transition represents a solution to sustainable development and global warming. To support this transition, the Group's scientific approach is based on three pillars: research, development and innovation. In terms of research, the aim is to break down scientific and technological barriers based on a critical review of the literature. In terms of development, our approach is to develop new solutions to meet existing challenges. In terms of innovation, the approach consists of implementing solutions developed on test benches and demonstrators. The demonstrators developed serve as channels for collaboration with companies, cooperation with research laboratories and research institutes, and as models for responding to calls for projects.

360°

Willy's research work is carried out within the Smart Energy research laboratory. He is currently working on a collaborative project between the Smart Energy laboratory and Energix on the issue of optimizing energy consumption and the energy community.

About Willy Magloire Nkounga

He holds a PhD in engineering sciences and is qualified as a lecturer in Section 63 (Electrical, Electronic, Photonic and Systems Engineering). He has many years' experience in the management and coordination of R&D projects and in higher education in France and abroad. In recent years, he has been in charge of managing and coordinating several European projects in partnership with several research laboratories and companies. Today, he applies his skills to teaching, research and student supervision in the context of research projects. He is the author of a dozen publications in international journals (EnergyElsevier, Springer Nature and IEEExplore).
