Théotime Coudray joins the Smart Energy team
The Smart Energy laboratory welcomes since January a new teacher-researcher, whose missions will be to bring new skills on the teaching part, as well as on the research.
Théotime, what is your profile ?
Born in La-Seyne-sur-Mer, I moved to the Paris region at a very young age where I spent most of my schooling. Passionate about social and economic issues since high school, I opted for a university career by studying international economics at the University of Paris IX Dauphine. Afterwards, my personal commitment to the environment led me to specialize in energy economics, in order to be equipped to respond to the major issues of the energy transition.
How did you become a teacher-researcher in renewable energy?
It was during my Master's degree in Energy, Finance and Carbon that I discovered research methods and the modeling of energy systems. I then decided to pursue this path by doing my end-of-studies internship at the Climate Economics Chair in Paris. From there, I decided to go deeper into the topic of power system flexibility by starting a PhD thesis at the University of Montpellier. After three years spent working on this subject, it is logical that I start a new professional chapter by joining ISEN as ateacher researcher in Smart Energy.
How do you see the field of Smart Energy at ISEN?
By integrating ISEN, I hope to be able to transmit my expertise on the subjects related to electrification and integration of renewables in energy systems, and to continue to develop my skills, in particular by participating in the project InterConnectproject, but also by being in contact with students on a daily basis.
